Dennis J. Drasco has represented property owners, tenants and public entities in Condemnation actions for over thirty (30) years in Federal and State Courts throughout New Jersey.

He has handled all aspects of Eminent Domain issues, including Right to Take, Inverse Condemnation, Highest and Best Use, Public Use, Regulatory Takings, Partial Takings, Commercial Takings, Residential Takings, Allocation Proceedings, including Leasehold Interests, Commissioners Hearings, Valuation Hearings and Appeals.

In 2007, an Essex County (New Jersey) jury found the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (NJSCC) low-balled Newark property owner JAGR Realty, represented by Attorney Dennis J. Drasco, when seizing land in 2005 for the proposed East Side High School. The case centered on a dispute over valuation of the property in the city's Ironbound section, which had been zoned for commercial development, but was likely to receive a variance or zone change for use as residential property. JAGR Realty appraised the property at $4.5 million, but NJSCC offered slightly under $2.1 million. The jury awarded nearly $3.3 million to JAGR Realty.

Recently, a Superior Court Judge in Essex County in C.D. Development v. City of Newark, entered judgment in favor of a property owner represented by Mr. Drasco, declaring that the City of Newark improperly designated the land in question, "[A]n area in need of redevelopment."

In addition to being a recognized New Jersey Condemnation/Eminent Domain Attorney, Dennis is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, New Jersey SuperLawyers, Chambers U.S.A. and Who's Who in American Law. He is also a New Jersey Court Approved Mediator.

He is a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, was Chair of the ABA Section of Litigation for 2004-2005, having served as Vice-Chair and Chair-Elect. He previously served as a member of its Council and as Co-Chair of the Condemnation, Land Use & Zoning and Construction Litigation Committees. He is currently President of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey for 2008-2009.
